A year ago, 15 July 2010 was the day...the day that I delivered to my 4th child, a baby girl, who we proudly named Aira Myesha. It was the day that I was asked by my gynae to go to the labour room at 8am though the labor pain did not exist. After sending Aiman, my eldest son to school and had breakfast, we went straight to the hospital. This time, the feeling was totally different. There was no real contraction, so I took my sweet time to get myself ready in the morning. The bag was already packed 1 week earlier. When the nurse took us to the labor room, I realized it was the same labor room when I delivered to my 3rd child, Aidid...what a coincidence!
At almost 9am, my gynae came to check on me. I was panicked when the she said that I need to be induced. Why? The cervix dilated at 2 cm, however, the baby's head was no longer engaged. There wasn't any real pain, so I took time to recite Surah Maryam (thanks to iphone for the application) again and again...until the real contraction finally came at almost 1 pm. That was after the doctor broke the waterbag. Another shocking news - the baby had past motion! The doctor advised that I may need to go for c-sec if there wasn't any sign for delivery. At around 3 pm, the doctor came again. This time with her OT attire. When she checked, the cervix had dilated to 6-7cm and since then the pain was real. I did not remove the gas from my mouth at all.
I was half concious and just took instructions from hubby and the nurses. About 50 minutes later, I suddently saw the doctor came again and a minute after that she put the baby on my stomach. Still, I couldnt believe my eyes that the baby had came out naturally...the experience this time was different..the pain suddenly diminished to see the baby in my arms - safe and sound! Alhamdulillah, I am so grateful for this precious gift...
